A playable teaser demo of a new Silent Hill game was announced earlier today at Gamescom. It will be made by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro and uses the Fox Engine. The teaser, at least, stars Norman Reedus, but I’m not sure if he’s the main character or not, since the trailer also says the demo has nothing to do with the main game.
Here's the Silent Hills preview from Amazon.
Here's title screen of PT and some PSN screencaps:
PT Playable teaser only available for a few more days
May 2nd, 2015
According to Konami.jp, PT demo won’t be available on PSN much longer. Apparently, Sony charges the companies a fee for the downloads, so older demos are routinely removed from PSN or have limited distribution periods. Some sources have said that if you have downloaded it before, it’s still possible to download it in the future, even if it’s nowhere to be found on PSN, but I can’t confirm that, and it doesn’t do much good for people who don’t yet have a PS4. It also seems a bit crap because, even from the beginning, they were saying PT would have nothing to do with Silent Hills, so it’s still a totally different game which they’re doing away with.
Konami will “continue to develop SH series” but SHs canceled
Regarding those rumours, Konami wouldn’t discuss the Silent Hills project specifically, but said: “We will continue to develop the Silent Hill series.”
